Haven’t done one for a while so thought it was time I did.
Went a-wandering up Culloden/Balloch woods last week. Nice day, bit chilly but turned out it had some great light going on. Packed a couple of lenses and tunes on the iPod (other MP3 players are available – buy one of them – iPods suck). Tramping around on the path just into the woods at Culloden and was struggling for inspiration. To be honest I just couldn’t be arsed. Lots of stuff going on what with trying to buy a house and attending friends funerals – almost turned round and went home but as I neared the railway bridge half way in I wondered if Id find any of those great shafts of light you get coming through the trees when the suns low – lo and behold I turned the corner and there they were – loads of them.
Instant enthusiasm – ended up having a really productive couple hours with the D200 – even scared the bejesus out of an old woman walking her dog by coming out of the trees singing along to This Silent Forest at top of my voice with headphones on. She survived but the dog will never, ever be the same !! It was nice to take photos again – getting a bit bored of the live stuff if I’m honest. I’m not getting out and about with the Nikons as much as I should and there’s only so much shots you can take in the same venues – looking for new challenges – something a bit different. The Whiskys in a garage was great – need some more of that action. Lets get weird !!
Anyhoo – here are some of the results. Hi Rez can always be found over at flickr !! Links on the sidebar >>>>
