I spent a recent Saturday afternoon with some wonderful people enjoying a dance, a singsong and food and drinks with nary a Jaegerbomb, karaoke machine or 8K rig with full laser show in sight. Not that I’ve got anything against any of those things but this event entailed tea, cakes, a nice chat and some old skool classics along the lines of Vera Lynn and Glen Campbell.
Inverness Senior Tea Dances is a three-monthly FREE Senior Social Tea Dance aimed at tackling social isolation and loneliness. Its volunteer-run, community-minded and so far very successful.
Find out more over on their brand new FACEBOOK PAGE if you are local to Inverness – if not here are some black and whites from Saturdays shindig.
